At 6 am from Brocherel square, Courmayeur, the TDS “Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie”
TDS® (Sur les Traces des Ducs de Savoie)
Race in a natural environment that follows the hiking trails of the Mont Blanc, Beaufortin, Alta Tarantaise and Valle d’Aosta villages.
Mountain test that involves numerous passages in altitude (> 2500m), in climatic conditions that could be difficult (night, wind, cold, rain or snow), which requires a good training, suitable material and a real capacity for autonomy personnel.
The two Savoie and Valle d’Aosta bring together the provinces that have been part of the Savoy states over the years. Set off to discover these 3 regions gathered around Mont Blanc, following a path where history and mountains blend.
Wednesday, August 27 at 7.00, you will experience the exceptional atmosphere of departure from the center of Courmayeur. Going from “Maison Vieille”, to Col Checrouit (1st refreshment point), you will follow the same path of the UTMB®, in the opposite direction, to the Elisabetta refuge. Then continue to Col Chavannes (2603m), near the Col de la Seigne. Join the forts of the Truc and the Patte, built at the end of the nineteenth century, to protect the valley, from an eventual Italian invasion, as the relations between the two neighbors were not “particularly good.” You will then reach the area of the 5 lakes, shortly after the Col de la Forclaz (2354m), you will run along Lake Esola and you will reach the Passeur de Pralognan (2567m). descent, very steep at first, gentler afterwards, will allow you to reach the volunteers of Beaufort at Cormet de Roselend (refreshment) .You will have to climb to the Col de la Sauce, take the amazing “passage du Curé” to the village of ella Gitte (take a look at the relief post, at the chapel of Notre-Dame des Neiges, from 1639) and go up the Col de Gitte until 2322m, from where you can admire a breathtaking view of Mont Blanc, the Aiguilles Rouges, Fiz and the Aravis … before reaching, through a small unknown path, the “Grande Pierrière”, up to the Col du Joly, where the Hauteluce team will welcome you warmly (refreshments). This wild path on the most beautiful trails of the Tarentaise, Beaufortain and Mont Blanc will continue with the descent to Les Contamines (refreshments), before going back to the Col du Tricot, passing by the Chalets du Truc and Miage.
